Duval leads in Japan?

Remember back in 2000 when Duval finished 3rd at Augusta and refused an interview after his round was complete? Some call that a tough competitor who has the right to snub the fans and sulk behind his Oakleys. I saw a spoiled PGA pro who wasn't happy with third place money, playing at a golf course people like us can only dream of playing.

Duval shot a 59 in the final round of the '99 Bob Hope, won 13 times including the 2001 Open Championship and then the bottom fell out. It was a bizarre collapse, but at least Nike signed him and gave him his own ball, the Tour Accuracy DD.

In 2004 Duval showed up at the US Open and fired an 83 and 82 for 25 over par. Fast forward to 2005 and Duval made one cut and earned 60th place money at the Texas Open. The $7,630.00 earned at LaCantera works out to about $3.81 an hour figured on an annual basis at 40 hours a week.

I bet Duval never snubs CBS for an interview at the Masters again. If he doesn't get his game in shape, 2006 will be his last trip down Magnolia Lane. (His 2001 Open Championship five year exemption runs out in '06)

Welcome to my 11/17 starting time...

This is a blog on golf from a hairy lie in a waste bunker of 24/7 golf news. This is my effort to take dead aim at the flag and throw a little yard dart in there nice and tight for your enjoyment. I am new to the blogger's life, but it's cold outside and David Duval has been sighted with a first round lead in Japan. No time like today to get started...
